Recreation Department Fee Waiver Program


 
ORLEANS RECREATION DEPARTMENT FEE WAIVER PROGRAM
 
We want all Orleans children to be able to participate in Orleans Recreation activities. Your family is eligible for waving of recreation fees if:
  • You (the parent or legal guardian) are an Orleans resident.
  • Your child/children are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program or you or your child/children received other government vouchers for services (SNAP, TAFDC = Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children, etc.)
  • You provide us with documentation (letter of acceptance for voucher program or free and reduced lunch, etc.)
Please email*, mail or drop off documentation of eligibility to the Orleans Recreation Department c/o the Recreation Director. Be sure to list the names and birth dates for your children, even if they are not all registering for a program at this time.

If your family is accepted into the Orleans Recreation Fee Waiver Program, all listed children will be covered for one calendar year from the date of acceptance.

Documentation is expected to be received before the current program starts. If you have questions about this process or your family has encountered special financial circumstances that do not meet the above criteria, please contact the recreation director. (Contact information is below.) We want to make this process as smooth as possible so your child can take full advantage of the Recreation Department’s programs.

You will receive an email or mailed confirmation of acceptance within five (5) business days of receipt.

*An emailed photo of documentation can be sent to the Recreation Director. Due to the lack of absolute security of email, please redact sensitive data (social security numbers, eg).

A further note about privacy: the information given to support this financial assistance is not a matter of public record, except as otherwise provided by law or applicable regulations. It will be treated with strict confidentiality by the recreation director, all data provided to an auditor will be anonymous. No individual child or family will be identified.
