Participants in the Lower Cape Recreational Basketball League will have one team practice and compete against a team from a local recreational program (Brewster, Harwich, Chatham, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown). The focus is on fundamentals, skill development, enjoying healthy competition, and having fun while engaging with peers of similar ages and skill levels.
WHEN: All team practices will be held on Saturday mornings once the coaches determine the start dates. Each team will have one game per week beginning in January. The girls' teams will play on Monday nights, while the boys' teams will play on Wednesday nights. (Schedules have yet to be determined by the Lower Cape Recreational League.) The Orleans Recreation Department will promptly inform all registered participants when the schedule becomes available.
WHAT TO BRING: Participants must wear sneakers during practice and games. They must also bring a labeled water bottle and wear proper athletic attire. Sandals, flip-flops, and Crocs are not allowed.
WHO: Girls & Boys in Grades 3 & 4 and 5 & 6
WHERE: Practices and home games will be held at the Nauset Regional Middle School Gym. Away games will be held in nearby towns as part of our Lower Cape Recreational League.
REGISTRATION FEE: $30R/per child
We are actively seeking passionate volunteer coaches to join our team. If you are interested, please contact the Orleans Recreation Department before registering your child/children!
We reserve the right to combine teams (Co-Ed) or combine with another town based on who volunteers to coach and the total number of children registered.
