Participant Behavior Contract
Good sportsmanship is a requirement for all Orleans Recreation Programs
All participants are required to actively engage and behave appropriately during practice, games, and activities. This approach is fundamental for creating an inclusive environment and ensures everyone, including peers, team mates, coaches, and volunteers, can thoroughly enjoy their experience.
When a participant's verbal or physical behavior disrupts practices, games, or activities, the coach, activity coordinator, or volunteer will immediately notify the Orleans Recreation, Culture, and Community Events Director or Program Manager. We are committed to maintaining a positive environment for everyone involved. The Department will investigate the issue and respond accordingly. If a "Strike" is issued, it will remain on record for one calendar year. Any child accumulating three strikes during this period will be suspended from participation or removed from the current program. Depending on the severity of the behavior, the Orleans Recreation, Culture, and Community Events Director or the Program Manager may determine that suspension or expulsion from the program is necessary after a first offense.
Any participant involved in physical violence or using severe language will be immediately required to sit out for the remainder of the current practice or game. Additionally, they will become ineligible to participate in the next scheduled game.
Unacceptable behavior, verbal or physical, will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, fighting, hitting, name-calling, bullying, disrespect toward others, refusal to follow instructions, the use of profanity, and any racist or derogatory language. Everyone is expected to adhere to these standards.
By registering for this program, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agreed to the above policies. I have clearly communicated the behavioral expectations to my child.
